GPS (global positioning system) units are fast becoming a way of life. Many auto manufacturers are now offering "OnStar" (see last month's editorial!) and the price of small handheld units are now competively priced in the $100-$150 range. In addition, the Motorola cellphone, Model V-60X, has a built-in GPS (call 911 and you can be pinpointed to within 300 yards)...much better than the older "nearest tower" concept which could be up to 10 miles distant!

NEW LICENSEE -
No new licensees were reported to the Editor during the previous month.
It has been a madhouse at our QTH for the past week or so. The upcoming installation of a new heat pump has necessitated an early spring cleaning of our basement (many years of accumulated "junk" and other assorted treasures) the likes of which I haven't seen in many a year! You would be surprised of where all those old heat ducts (to be replaced) run overhead in the basement garage...ducts that need to have clear space below for the installation crew's access. Any furniture that has a duct outlet behind it has to be moved as well!! WHEW! (The Salvation Army has had an unexpected bonus, as well as the County Landfill).
