Page 10 Home From about Feb 1985 until April 1986, the Newsletter was not associated with the Lenoir ARC. It was mimeographed (see 1st masthead) & mailed to various subscribing local hams ($3. per year to cover duplication costs, paper, and postage). The Lenoir Ham Radio Newsletter was adopted as the official newsletter of the LARC after the club's formation in April 1986 and the newsletter masthead was changed as depicted in second masthead below. A dot matrix printer was being used at this point. Sometime between April 1986 and January 1987, a contest was held to rename the club newsletter and the winning entry was "Ham Radio News & Views" which was shortened to just "News & Views" shortly thereafter. Only printed copies were available until the advent of the internet and from that point onward, distibution was via an online newsletter...like this one! -Ed Back
