Bike Ride Rescheduled! Due to Hurricane Ivan and it's close proximity to the Bike Ride Route during the selected September weekend, the ride was postponed to November 14th (bring your jackets!) by Chamber of Commerce ride officials. Also, the Ride has been shortened from its usual 103.5 miles to 75 miles and the start time has been changed to 8 AM.

Several have asked for more info about
APRS
. APRS is an acronym for "Automatic Packet Reporting System". The system allows two similarly equipped stations (a PC or laptop, a 2m radio, a TNC, a GPS unit, and the appropriate software (free) to "see" each other on their computer display. Therefore, you can actually "follow" one another as your mobiles move about...or... a base station (
GPS unit not required
) can track a mobile-in-motion. For an interesting introduction to APRS go to the APRS website by , clicking
